Great piece that represents the inexpensive type handkerchief available in the mid-19th Century. A must for anyone doing an impression of an average guy.

    lighter in color than pictured.

Bandana I received was much more light in color and did not look the same as the one pictured. I would of prefered the color in the picture for sure. The weight of the fabric and sewn edge was fine.

This is a nice looking hanky and is a lighter, softer material (which feels good against the nose on a cold morning) but after a few washings, I've noticed some of the seams are starting to unravel and the color is fading some. I just ordered another one for my father for christmas and noticed the instructions say to handwash in cold only so maybe that is the reason for the unraveling and fading. I've been washing in warm water with a front load. I Might try one of the heavier ones the next time to see if it holds up better. I like the idea that the pattern is authentic to the civil war time period, though.
