A Civil War reproduction handkerchief based on the original carried by Dr. Eugene Broaddus of the 9th Virginia Cavalry, Company B, the “Caroline Light Dragoons.”
The original handkerchief was in Broaddus’ pocket on the night he was surprised and killed by Federal troopers while resting at the home of a friend in Caroline County, Virginia. This reproduction preserves the design and scale of that original personal item.
Made from 100% cotton and measuring 27 x 27 inches, this handkerchief is well suited for Civil War living history, collecting, display, and study of soldier-carried material culture.
