An 18 x 16 inch 100% cotton reproduction of the handkerchief belonging to Lt. S. Millett Thompson of the 13th New Hampshire Infantry.

A Civil War reproduction handkerchief based on the original belonging to Lieutenant S. Millett Thompson of the 13th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry.

Thompson enlisted in Company E of the 13th New Hampshire on August 13, 1862 and was later promoted to second lieutenant. He served primarily in Virginia and was severely wounded during the Siege of Petersburg. After the war, Thompson authored “Three Years and a Day,” and his letters are preserved in the UNC Library.

The original handkerchief, from the South Union Mills private collection, was stenciled with Thompson’s name and regiment. This reproduction preserves the look and specifications of that historic personal item.

    Lovely Pattern and Quality

This, like many other products from South Union Mills are made with great quality. I love the various patterns in particular because I think it is rather difficult to find patterns like those from the era.

Excellent Service - and Great Handkerchief Too

Posted by Scott Dickinson on 1st Nov 2019

Wonderful pattern, though it is somewhat less crisp that the (digital?) sample image. It is still very clear, and looks great at any distance. Fantastic service- ordering was easy, and when my order was lost at the border, South Union Mills was very accommodating. Very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent product. The print is a bit less crisp in person, but a wonderful addition to any impression! Keep up the great work!

This is the second I bought..lost the first one. I love it. I am in no way at all a reenactor. I got it to tie in my hair. Love the colors & the 19th cent. print. Great "note" on modern dress..for the flair.
