Silk Handkerchiefs are a Must for Primitive Outdoorsmen

Posted by Dave Rodgers on 14th Sep 2020

This is an excellent reproduction and fully serviceable to its design. Silk is superior to cotton in regards to tensile strength and its ability to continue wicking and cooling through the hottest weather. Numerous period accounts speak of silk handkerchiefs and their value. They were even a popular item with the Native Fur Trade. Whether round my neck or in my hat brim, this silk handkerchief serves me well in the Arizona Territory as it gives great relief to my core temperature. Because it is silk, it still draws out my body heat when damp and is superior to cotton for that reason alone.

I am more than satisfied at the quality of the handkerchiefs i have purchased so far. I am too old now to reenact any more, but i still collect authentic items when i can.

I'm much of a silk handkerchief guy, but this item changed my mind. Light and airy on a hot day. Great style, and practically unnoticeable in the pocket. I'm sold!
