This knit cap was used during the Civil War by Thomas Taylor of the 8th Louisiana Infantry and is housed in the Museum of the Confederacy. The original was reportedly red and white, but we have made our first reproductions to match the existing item in a pleasing olive/tan color and dark red. Made from 100% hand knit, hand spun wool.
One size fits most, but please let us know your head circumference in inches in the customer comments to ensure proper fit.
This cap is very faithful to the original in its construction. I've bought several of these and highly recommend them to anyone wanting to improve their Confederate impression.

This is a well executed winter hat, made using the correct material, process, and method. It's also nice and warm and will be used for modern everyday wear as well as historical interpretation.
