In many years of reading letters to and from home, one thing I have noted is that soldiers often asked for and received wool flannel shirts from home (sometimes even during the summer in Mississippi!). The soldiers weren't requesting over shirts, but actual shirts made from fine wool flannel. We are now making these available that are made from fine wool flannel, natural white with dark blue stripe, dark brown, and navy blue. Our shirts are also made in Pennsylvania by an Old Order Amish seamstress and are made on a foot powered treadle machine in a home with no electricity. The wool flannel used in these shirts is fine and has a soft hand. An excellent shirt made from excellent cloth, and available in Medium and Large. Medium will fit approx. 38-42 and Large will fit 44-46.
