This is the standard shirt of the Federal soldier in the Civil War.  Every soldier most likely would have been issued one of these shirts at sometime during his time in service.  The soldiers sometimes called these shirts "insufferable hair shirts" because of the coarseness of the sometimes lacking quality of cloth some of these shirts were made from.  Our shirts are completely hand sewn, yes, COMPLETELY hand sewn.  Our shirts are made from custom woven wool/cotton domet flannel cloth that is not scratchy or rough, and are quite comfortable.

Today in the hobby these shirts are lacking among Federal army living historians.  You will love your shirt that is authentic in every detail, from start, to finish!
