Our Federal Issue Contract Brogans are historically styled Civil War shoes designed for Civil War impressions, living history, historical interpretation, and reenactment. Based on the appearance and construction of original Federal contract brogans, these reproduction shoes combine a period-correct look with the comfort and durability needed for extended wear in the field.
The brogans feature a waxed flesh leather upper, closed-channel sewn sole, and heels secured with square-cut nails. Heel plates are included at no additional charge. The result is a sturdy pair of Civil War shoes that looks at home with a Federal soldier's uniform while also providing a practical choice for reenactors, museums, historical sites, and other living-history settings.
These Federal Issue Brogans are available in men's full sizes 7 through 14. They are offered in full sizes only; if your size is temporarily out of stock, typical delivery time is approximately 6–8 weeks.
