18th Century Wool Flannel Trousers – Excelsior Line

Our Excelsior 18th Century Striped Wool Flannel Trousers are a historically inspired reproduction of the practical wool trousers worn by working men, farmers, laborers, sailors, and military or militia men during the mid-to-late 1700s. Period references frequently document striped and solid wool flannel trousers as a practical choice for cooler weather. These trousers feature a traditional fall-front closure, full seat, adjustable rear waist eyelets, hand-sewn buttonholes, and authentic pewter buttons. Made from lightweight wool flannel with carefully hand-finished details, they are an excellent choice for Revolutionary War reenactments, colonial living history, and historically accurate 18th-century impressions.

    New Wool Trousers

Posted by Brian T Carpenter on 31st Jan 2026

Haven’t yet worn them to an event, but they’re quite nice right out of the box. True to size, a nice lightweight wool, and desirable period accents such as hand finishing. These should be great for boat work on cooler days, as wool retains heat even when wet.
