Hand knit wool socks were the first hand knit item that we began carrying back when we only had a period peddler's cart to peddle from at events.  Since that time we have always offered these socks to our customers and continue to receive very positive comments about their quality, comfort, and durability.  These socks are taken from the U.S. Sanitary Commission patterns that were designed for relief of the soldiers at the front.  These socks are a staple item of our business, and customers have loved them for years!  Hand knit from 100% hand spun woolen yarns.

  • Hand knit from 100%, 2 ply woolen yarns.
  • Knit using period patterns from the U.S. Sanitary Commission
  • Available using solid colors or with contrasting heel and toe colors

    Warm and Toasty

These socks arrived in the nick of time for Cedar Creek. Kept my feet comfortable throughout the day, double quicking up hill and down dale and warm and cozy at night under my blankets and ground cloth in the chilly night.

    Hand Knit socks hold up

After 5 days of continual wear in the field at the Kennesaw Mountain 150th I can say that these socks are a winner. They didn't fall down, bunch up, or stain my feet. The cushioning was also great as I was on my feet most of those 5 days.
