Red heeled mules

Entirely hand made reproduction 17th and 18th century red Moroccan leather mules with heels. These are for both men and women. This type of mule and form of the last it is built upon appears in the earlier 17th century and stays in use until the end of the 18th century the early 19th century.

The mules are made by a craftsman using only 17th & 18th century techniques and materials by hand. The red leather used on the uppers for these is sumac (vegetable) tanned goat leather, known both in the 17th and 18th century as Moroccan leather. The leather is organically dyed with Brazilwood. They feature vegetable tanned sole leather soles with wood pegged on stacked leather heels and are constructed via the correct historic method of turn shoe construction. The mules are lined with antique French hand loomed linen fabric and are entirely hand sewn using hand twisted linen thread.  If your selection can be added to your cart, then your size is in stock!
