This is a great reproduction of a common 18th century snapsack, made from hair out goat hide. The strap is tanned leather and features a tinned iron buckle. The top of the snapsack can be drawn closed with a leather thong.

This over the shoulder snapsack is amazingly well made. The sewing used in the construction is very precise. The attachment of the strap to the "sack" is very well done and strong. The leather used for the "sack" is of superb quality and should stand up to a lot of rough use. As with most leather goods, the more the bag is used the more flexible thel leather becomes. A great touch is the small buckle used on the strap. No corners were cut in the construction of this bag, as even the buckle appears very "period". The price is very reasonable for this high quality and unique item.
Fine snapsack , very pleased.
Thanks SUM!
A fine piece of gear and well worth the wait. The first one Chris shipped was lost by the USPS, but Chris worked with me and made good on it.
Excellent goatskin snap sack. Appears well made. The tinned buckle and the leather strap are sewn perfectly. Would recommend.
