South Union Mills is happy to make available 18th century shoe boots, or called in some circles "hi low" shoes.  Shoe boots were worn by workmen and sportsmen during the 18th century, and can be found on numerous inventories and runaway ads.  We haven't found that they were restricted to any one time or place, as they show up in New England, mid-Atlantic, as well as frontier inventories and ads.

Our shoes are made of top grain leather, feature a close channel sewn sole and stacked leather heel. They are furnished with black leather shoe laces and can be made with heel plates if so desired (please indicate at the time of order) and are made on the same last as our 18th century buckle shoes, so please order one size smaller than you would normally wear.

Our shoe boots are made of the same top quality and supple leather that our other footwear is made from and require little to no break in period.  We hope that you find these boots fill a needed void in the living history space as an authentic shoe boot option for 18th century impressions!

Currently, all shoe boots ordered are being made to order as we have not offered these long enough to build a stock of them.  Expect a wait of approximately 6 weeks.
