18th century hand knit stockings - 2 ply gray

George Washington, Daniel Morgan, George Rogers Clark...this is what they were wearing on their feet when forging our nation!  We are excited to offer these early to mid 18th century stockings.  These stockings feature a true early style "common" heel as well as a correctly knit top band. These stockings were developed after research and consultation with some of the foremost authorities on 18th century knitted goods. Our reproductions are made from 100% handspun  and hand dyed yarns.  The yarns are much lighter weight than most 2 ply yarns, and are only slightly heavier than our single ply stockings.

Best Stockings I have bought so far!

Posted by Wade Todd on 17th Nov 2023

I purchased these because I had heard that these were the best on the market. I have previously had some wool stockings from some big name reenacting companies and they did not hold up at all. These on the other hand were incredible! I have an original pair of wool stockings and these are made in an identical manner! Great product and great customer service! I will definitely buy again in the future!

If you want an enlisted man's wool stocking of the 17th and 18th Centuries, you found it!

These are bulky, hand knit stockings of coarse wool as would have been issue in the period armies of the Seven Years's War, American Revolution and into the early 19th Century. They have the period construction with the center rear seam. They look and feel right.
