South Union Mills is owned and operated by Chris Utley, former proprietor of Carter & Jasper Mercantile. South Union Mills' goal is to be the premier provider of historically accurate coverlets, blankets, knit goods, and straw hats. By narrowing our focus to these items, we will be able to concentrate on the two most important issues in business, product quality and customer service. Our namesakes, the South Union Shakers, historically were manufactures of a variety of goods, including those we offer today. The Shakers of South Union produced thousands of straw hats, blankets, knit goods, and other textiles throughout the years, and peddled these goods throughout the country. It is to their industrious works and memories that the quality of our items is dedicated.
