I had just been reading about British Army Blankets imported to the Confederacy in a recently acquired copy of "Suppliers to the Confederacy" Vol. 3 and I wondered if anyone was offering them and to my pleasant surprise (and luck) I found SUM was offering a version!! After careful consideration of whether I needed one more type of repro Civil War blanket to add to my collection I decided "Yes, why not?". As usual I am very happy with the purchase and the product and look forward to using it.
I bought this British import blanket for my Confederate Army of Tennessee impression and I highly recommend you snag one of these blankets ASAP. The blanket held up well at Resaca and worked great when worn as blanket roll while on march. I look forward to getting more use out of this. Highly recommend!
Although between the covid and the weather I have not yet tested this blanket in the field, there are some comments I can offer Tahe item arrived well-packaged and in a timely manner. To "test" it, I laid on the floor. I am 5' 10" and it covered me from the botton of my heels to my upper lip. Its' width was sufficient to cover me entirely with plenty left over. When folded over length-wise, it still covered me entirely with a bit to spare. This would work well as a 3-season blanket. I'm glad I bought it and reccomend it to anyone desiring to kick up the authenticity gauge a notch.
