Straw Hats
Our straw hats are made from tightly plaited wheat straw and sewn together with cotton thread. Our straw hats are not pre-made hats that we simply modify, they are made especially as reproductions of historic straw hats that were available during the mid-19th century. We have studied several images of period straw hats and the few remaining originals there are and we feel that our straw hats are some of the best reproductions available today. Each hat is finished with a pigskin sweatband, pure silk crown ribbon, and shellacked.
We offer straw hats in the most popular styles of the day, including the wide brimmed and tall crown styles of the 1840's and 50's, as well as the "farmer" sugarloaf styles, and bowler.
Hats are $79.00 each and require $10.00 shipping. Each hat is finished to your specifications after you order, so please add 2-4 weeks for shipping and arrival.
