We are very excited to offer Federal State Issue blankets in a very limited quantity. There are numerous examples of these blankets being issued by numerous northern states in the first years of the war. There are also other examples of red blankets with black stripes being privately purchased and even one example of such a blanket being used by an officer in the Washington Artillery (currently in the collection of Confederate Memorial Hall).
These reproduction blankets were recently woven by Family Heirloom Weavers for a Liberty Rifles project. The yarn used in this project was professionally color matched to an original blanket. The blankets also have a correct 19th century selvedge and are finished and ready to use. They measure 75 x 67 inches and weigh approximately 4 pounds.
